There is No iPhone 3.0 Delay, Obviously

There is No iPhone 3.0 Delay, Obviously

In a story we picked up from our sister publication PC Advisor in the U.K. through a syndication feed, we earlier published information that Apple was “quietly delaying” the iPhone 3.0 software update until tomorrow, June 18.

In the article, the author pointed to Apple’s Singapore site, and mistakely identified it as the U.S. Apple site. The Singapore site listed the iPhone 3.0 software release date as June 18 rather than June 17. This makes complete sense due to time-zone differences; Singapore began its June 18 at 9:00am PST / 12:00pm EST on June 17 in the United States.

The iPhone 3.0 software update is available now.

In order to offer viewpoints from outside the United States, we republish stories from English-language IDG publications around the world on PCWorld.com. We have faith that the original authors and editors are vigilant in checking information that is syndicated through these feeds, but nobody is perfect, and mistakes do happen. We regret the error.
